UNTHA staff spotlight
Kuchl, Sep 12, 2016
Name: Christoph Lankmayer
Job title: Aftersales service manager
What does your role entail?
Whilst my job is incredibly varied, my responsibilities centre around customer care. This applies to clients here in Austria, but also further afield in wider Europe and overseas.
Drawing upon my rich technical background, I’m able to offer customers the greatest possible level of support when queries arise or their shredding requirements evolve. I’m also the first point of contact for UNTHA’s worldwide subsidiary companies, should they require some technical aftersales insight or engineering guidance.
How long have you been with the company?
7 ½ years.
What’s the best thing about your job?
I think a lot of my colleagues have said the same thing when they have been interviewed, but it’s the constant variety that comes with working for UNTHA. No two days are the same. We’re working with very different organisations that each have extremely diverse waste challenges. The industry is also very progressive so whilst we are experts in the field, there are always new opportunities to explore and new engineering boundaries to break.
Of all the places you’ve visited during your time with UNTHA, which has been your favourite?
The stock yards in Texas – I went there to visit a customer operating the XR2000C.
For you, which is UNTHA’s stand-out shredder?
The new XR mobil-e is of course a very exciting shredder because it has changed the way that operators shred using a mobile machine. However, the TR post shredder is also a favourite – it’s the reason I began focusing on the waste side of the business.
What’s been your biggest work achievement, since joining UNTHA?
When I secured a three year spare and wear parts contract with a large client in Germany. I also installed all consignment stock for the UK’s waste shredders, which was a huge project but very interesting and satisfying.
Describe UNTHA in three words:
Reliable – of course!
Flexible – I truly believe our shredders are the most adaptable on the market.
Customer-focused (if that counts!) – client requirements and satisfaction levels lie at the heart of everything, from the new shredder innovations we engineer to the aftersales services we provide.
And finally some more light-hearted questions:
What’s your favourite food?
Anything Mexican, or a good burger.
How do you relax on a weekend?
By spending time with my girlfriend. I also enjoy diving, sometimes with my friends from the local fire brigade.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what is the one thing you couldn’t live without´?
I’d have to say my girlfriend. If I could have two things, I’d take my diving goggles too!
