Zuser Ressourcenmanagement GmbH produces over 100,000 tons of high-energy, high-purity substitute fuels annually. The company processes materials such as commercial waste, light packaging, and end-of-life tires and rubber. Another primary focus is material recycling. Zuser extracts high-quality plastics like PET and film, as well as ferrous and non-ferrous metals, ensuring their return to the recycling loop.

The problem
Initial situation

At its Peggau site in Austria, Zuser produces high-calorific substitute fuels from commercial waste with a bulk density of 80 kg/m³. For Production Line 1, which comprises a shredder, conveyor belts, and a sorting system, a new pre-shredder was required.

The solution
Why opt for an UNTHA shredder?

The UNTHA XR3000RC mobil-e meets all these requirements. This single-shaft shredder combines high throughput capacity with efficient energy use. Its slow-speed UNTHA Eco Power Drive—featuring two water-cooled synchronous motors—uses up to 75% less energy than comparable diesel-powered units. The Ripper Cutter (RC) system, with its unique tooth shape, ensures optimal material intake and shredding. Depending on the required output size, either screen bars or various perforated screens can be used to produce granulate sizes between 90 and 300 mm. A magnetic separator positioned above the discharge conveyor removes metals for recycling. With its electric crawler chassis, the shredder can be easily relocated across the company’s premises, ensuring continuous plant operation. Zuser also uses a UNTHA XR3000 mobil-e equipped with a C-cutter to shred around 10 tons/hour of tires and rubber waste into 16 mm granulate. Magnetic separators are also used here for metal separation.

The UNTHA XR3000RC mobil-e and XR3000C mobil-e shredders are energy-efficient, delivering high throughput rates and uniform output material. Their flexibility makes them suitable for a wide range of materials, thanks to interchangeable perforated screens and screen bars.
