Complete solution for single-stage recycling of wooden pallets
UNTHA shredding technology is launching its specially developed PS1300 pallet shredder worldwide, following its successful establishment in the UK and the US. In response to growing market demand for sustainable shredding solutions for pallets, this machine is now available internationally, including in Austria, Germany, Turkey, France, Spain, Portugal, and South America.
The PS1300 has already been successfully installed at various production and waste-disposal facilities. It is proving to be a valuable asset for companies looking to handle their waste materials easily and efficiently. The compact yet powerful PS1300 single-shaft shredder has been specially developed for processing wooden pallets and delivers a homogeneous output material that is suitable for energy recovery as biomass and for use as mulch in landscaping. The PS1300 processes up to 30 pallets per hour and reduces the volume by up to 75%. This significantly reduces the storage space required in the company, as well as transport and disposal costs.

“Companies from various industries are under increasing pressure to optimize their waste management processes while reducing costs and environmental impact,” says Michael Nowak, Sales Shredding Technology / Area Sales Manager at UNTHA Germany GmbH. “The PS1300 was developed as an efficient, reliable, and cost-effective solution that helps companies optimize their waste disposal, reduce their dependence on external disposal services, and generate valuable wood chips as a lucrative by-product.”
The PS1300 has already impressed many companies, with first-time users in particular reporting significant financial and environmental benefits. For example, the British company MC Refrigeration Ltd. has diverted over 24 tons of wood waste from landfill and saved thousands in external disposal fees just three months after installing the shredder. The resulting wood chips are used to generate heat, supporting the company's sustainability goals.
“This expansion into new areas is a direct response to market demand. Companies are actively looking for smarter, more sustainable ways to deal with waste, and the UNTHA PS1300 offers the perfect balance between performance, efficiency, and cost savings,” adds Michael Nowak.
