UNTHA America prepares for waste shredder roadshow
Hampton, NH, May 20, 2020
A 38 ton UNTHA XR3000XC mobil-e has begun a 4,000 mile journey from Salzburg Austria to New York, as UNTHA America adds a second demo machine to its fleet.
The world-renowned, next-generation waste shredder has been specially manufactured at our Austrian headquarters, to allow us to conduct a country-wide roadshow of trials and boost the waste shredding profitability of operators throughout the USA.
Designed to demonstrate exactly what the XRs are capable of when tackling a range of waste applications, the roadshows provide the opportunity to get up close to our machines and put them through their paces, for the ultimate ‘try before you buy’ experience.
Our first on-site demo for the new XR3000XC will be in an RDF/SRF production environment, where the client wishes to transform MRF residue into a 1” alternative fuel for a cement kiln.
But this is just one of many areas in which this XR mobil-e series excels.
The new XC cutting system performs particularly well when handling other pre-processed material such as plastic residue, as it can achieve an ultra-fine shred as small as ¾ inch.
The XR’s original Cutter (C) system, meanwhile, is capable of shredding everything from MSW, C&I waste and waste wood, through to complex bulky wastes such as mattresses, tires and textiles – plus the very topical hazardous and medical waste streams – making the XR range incredibly flexible overall.
Thanks to the various cutting configurations available, homogenous particle sizing of anything from ¾ - 5 inch is possible. And if customer specifications change or new market opportunities open up, the shredder’s screens can be reconfigured in as little as one hour, to maximize clients’ waste shredding capabilities.
“Despite the pressures of the global health crisis, there remains a huge appetite to learn about the capabilities of innovative, energy-efficient and cost-effective shredding technology,” commented UNTHA America’s president Bernhard Martinz.
“Only last week one of our directors headlined a virtual trade show attended by more than 800 industry professionals, to deliver his ‘10 steps to more profitable shredding’ talk. Businesses are still investing, but they need to be confident in the capabilities of their equipment and the likely payback period.
“The XR roadshow will give them the evidence they need, before they place an order.”
The XR demo unit is also available for customers looking for a short-term shredder rental agreement.
“If you’re interested, talk to us about what’s possible,” added Bernhard. “It goes without saying that we will adhere to state-wide COVID-19 guidance and will only allow trials or site visits where it is safe for everyone involved. But given the essential status of many of our customers, in a large number of cases, it is ‘business as usual’.”
